Don't be a wimp! Embrace the cold! Its invigorating. I find it is easier to keep warm with layers of clothes, roaring fires and hearty food, than it is to keep cool when the temperature is over forty degrees celsius and humid as well. Enjoy the south all the same.

I grew up in the cold, so being able to experience warm winters has been a gift. It is the invigorating, though.

Now you get why I prefer winter :)

I am the one behind with our messages and essays :) looking forward to read them. And to your question, I admire those who cold-plunge… But from a safe distance :)

I share the admiration and the distance!

This made me laugh :)

I could relate so much with you while reading Jen, and can’t wait to reas about that retreat next week! But I’ve come to accept that if embracing winter feels forced to me and I crave a visit to Mexico City or Sri Lanka every winter, maybe that’s who we are (Written from rainy and windy Amsterdam 😄😄)

Thanks so much for your comment, Julio. I have been meaning to reply, but it's been a busy week. Fascinating that you mention Sri Lanka. I spent a month there this past summer and loved the country. Where do you stay when you're there? And cold and rainy Amsterdam is the only way I know the city. ;). Oh, and the retreat was great. I actually cold plunged, though not on the first day when they got in an ice-covered lake. The second day, after an extended amount of time in a sauna, I went for it. It wasn't terrible, but probably still isn't my sort of thing. Have you done it? Looking forward to reading your last essay now that I have a bit of time.
